My feeling towards mathematics

I was very moved by what she says because many people often ask WHAT mathematics we know. But very seldom do people ask me WHY I choose mathematics as my discipline.

She very succinctly sums up my feelings towards mathematics very well. I do mathematics as a way to explain the world. It is the lens through which I prefer to view the world. I love mathematics because it is a form of mental discipline, because while it may seem ethereal and otherworldly it IS a human endeavor.
